Lucky Dog FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
We do not staff overnight between 8:00PM and 5:00AM.
At Lucky Dog, all our guests are required to be social and be in daycare for up to 10 hours a day, so they are very sleepy by bedtime. When we go home at night, all our guests are secured in their private rooms with no interruptions, which ensures a sound night’s sleep.
If your dog is over 4 months of age they MUST be vaccinated against Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper. If they are under the age of 4 months, they do not need the Rabies vaccination.
The easiest thing to do is to give us a call or send us an email, along with sending over an enrollment form (get the enrollment form here). Once you have contacted us, you can then call your vet and have them fax over your dog’s vaccinations or you can email them to us yourself.
Yes, you do need a reservation for boarding, as well as for your dog’s first day of daycare. After your dog has been evaluated and is daycare approved, you no longer need a reservation for daycare and can stop by anytime before 2 p.m. which is our cutoff time for daycare.
All dogs must be spayed or neutered by the age of 6 months if they are to come stay or play with us.
Dogs are placed on one of our three daycare floors. They are separated primarily by size, but a dog’s temperament can come into play as well. There are exceptions to every rule, of course, as long as the safety of all our guests is not affected and the owner has provided their permission.
We ask that you bring your dog’s food. If your dog eats dry food, please prepackage their meals in individual servings. We also can feed your dog canned, wet or raw food.
Yes, dogs from the same family can, and often do, stay together at night.
No! We include up to 9 hours of social time in daycare with our boarding stays. (Did you know, most other facilities charge extra? Be sure to ask about this specifically with every boarding facility you interview.) The only time we charge extra is when you pick your dog up after our 1 p.m. checkout time. In those instances, we charge a half-day fee of $16 to cover the extra care your pup receives.
Please see the boarding rates on our Boarding page, as there are multiple variables.
Please see our daycare rates on our Daycare page, as there are many options to suit you and your pup(s)!
We do offer baths, nail trims, and nail grinds for those guests who are either in daycare for the day or staying overnight with us. You’ll find your pup clean and tired at the end of the day!
We first call you or your emergency contact if anything serious occurs (which is rare). Then we decide if we need to bring your pup to your vet or one of our affiliated partners for the appropriate care.
Our grooming services are available for our daycare and boarding guests only. Prices vary due to condition of coat, as well as behavior of dog. Sorry we do not take walk ins.
